How Artificial Intelligence Can Be Your Friend

IMG_0623

Much has been said about artificial intelligence or AI. Often people have talked about AI in a very fearful way as something with catastrophic and apocalyptic consequences. Even highly regarded people like Elon Musk and Stephen Hawkings have warned of the potential dangers when AI becomes highly developed and sophisticated. There is no question that AI will develop exponentially and become an enormous industry. It will greatly augment other industries and increase their productivity in unprecedented ways.

What about when AI becomes more sophisticated than humans?

One of the hot topics surrounding AI and the main cause of most people’s concern is, what happens when AI becomes more sophisticated than humans? Most people view such a situation as a threat to humanity and there are perfectly legitimate and rational arguments as to how AI can be a real danger to the human race. But let’s look at AI and it’s potential in a more exciting and positive way. This is a technology, which has the power to change our lives and make our lives better and less gruelling. Already there exists different kinds of AI such as the electronic calculator, speech and image recognition, or the algorithms designed for automatic language translation, spelling and grammar corrections, and the ones Facebook and Amazon use to create our daily news feeds and recommendations respectively etc. The Siri function on your iPhone is a very embryonic form of the type of AI, which will grow and develop at an exponential rate. At some point in the future this kind of AI bot will be your 24/7 multi task virtual assistant, which you’ll be able to have intelligent two way conversations with about virtually (no pun intended!) anything. Based on all your digital data and spoken words, it will help you make all your decisions for you. This virtual assistant bot will help you with all kinds of issues whether they are legal and financial queries, relationship problems and generally try to help you to organise your life and make it more efficient and productive. A SMART Life!

Job automation

People fear that AI will speed up the process of job automation and eventually make all jobs obsolete. This will happen yet it will happen to all Industrial Age, repetitive jobs with little to no creativity. Instead of being fearful, people should be happy. I mean do people enjoy repetitive, humdrum and uninspiring jobs? In our current culture there is this incomprehensible and irrational obsession with work; but work of an often soul destroying kind and not work that people enjoy and which can benefit and change society. AI will eventually automate all forms of repetitive and uncreative work and in the future people will be working far fewer hours.

A Post-Work society and why our creativity and ideas will be king

AI in the distant future will likely lead to a kind of Post-Work society. Yet in these times people will be finally free from monotonous work and will likely be engaging and harnessing their creativity and ideas in doing something they love. Rather than being a threat, AI will be an indispensable and invaluable resource, which will augment, complement and greatly benefit our levels of creativity and ideas and help us to realise with the best results whatever we want to achieve. AI will greatly enhance our creativity and generation of ideas and help us to tap into them in unimaginable ways. And best of all, it all most likely be free. No need to set aside money for expensive lawyers, financial advisors, planners and accountants. Or even software developers and digital data analysts and marketers. AI will be able to serve you in all these areas at no cost.

5 Ways To Help You Attract Good Things Into Your Life

IMG_0617

As we go through our daily lives, we sometimes do not take a step back and review what we have which makes us feel good. It is easier to dwell on what doesn’t make us feel good! Why is this so? We tend to find excuses when an aspect of our life does not go our way. I went through a period like this in my life where I was not attracting positive things towards me. We tend to forget that when we surround ourselves with positivity, we feel better and our perception of life changes for the better.

When we see others going through a positive time, we instantly compare ourselves with them and analyse every single detail. Then we will worry ourselves and wonder why this hasn’t happened to us. The behaviors mentioned above are not conducive to living a healthy and balanced life. Never compare yourself to others. You never know exactly what these people are going through.

As I mentioned in one of my previous pieces, your energy level can dictate what comes your way. The more we generate our level of consciousness and awareness, we will better understand our energy levels. If we generate positive vibes then the chances of good things happening will be much higher! This is a good start towards managing ones thoughts.

Practice gratitude

The moment you start to appreciate what you have, you will begin to view your life with a more open mind. Show appreciation to others. Recognise mistakes from past experiences. Enjoy what you currently have in the present. Acknowledge what you are grateful for. Write down what you are grateful for when you wake up. You will be able to deal with life better when you accept and appreciate what you have.

Be optimistic

Optimism generates high energy levels and points us in the right direction when it comes to achieving our goals. This helps us to see opportunities even when we are in difficulty. When we display this energy, anything will be possible. Life is too short to not be optimistic, since you do not know what is round the corner.

Find your purpose

Knowing exactly what you would like to do will help you attract good vibes. If you are unsure about what you want out of life, this can bring you closer to negativity rather than towards positivity. It took me a few years to find out exactly what I wanted to do. Lots of pain and fears were experienced during this time, but I do not regret going through this as it has helped me grow into the person I am today. Especially now, as I have finally figured out my purpose. We all become driven and determined when we have goals in mind. So if you are going through this, keep going.

Be more forgiving

In life, it’s not worth holding grudges against others even if it causes us pain. The best thing we can do is to let go and accept. I know it’s easier said then done but you will feel better for it. This can be in regards to events over which you have no control over. Don’t let this make you feel bitter. Instead, take the life lesson away and learn from it. Give yourself the opportunity to grow and develop. At the end of the day, only you are living your life, no one else!

Smile and realise there is no need for control

Smiling makes yourself and others feel instantly happy. We should all be smiling more since it’s great for our wellbeing. People who love to smile are drawn more to others. This is fact! Being in high spirits is awesome! Accept that in life there is no need for constant control.

5 Easy Ways To Help You Live In The Now

IMG_0610

So many of us struggle to live within the present moment since we think too much about what will happen in the future instead of enjoying what we have right now.
We do not realise that we can miss out on potential opportunities when we do not focus on the now. Our society has conditioned us to think ahead and plan our lives in advance. This has put a lot of pressure on us often causing us to think negatively, which is not conducive to living a happy and balanced life.

It’s not so easy to tell another person to live in the present, especially if they have been wired to think a certain way for the majority of their life. I was advised to do exactly this, but found it quite difficult. I would aim to live in the present, but would fall by the wayside by thinking too much about the future. Fear can hold us back from being at peace in order to enjoy the present.

Accept that you cannot control everything in life

The past has been and the future is yet to come. We literally have no control over these two factors. The last thing you would want to do is agonize over them. Life is short and should be enjoyed. What you can take away from the past are the life lessons and ensure that you do not make the same mistakes. You want to better prepare yourself for what is yet to come.

Time to look introspectively

This is actually one of the best times to get to know oneself when you start addressing past behaviors, which stop you from living in the present. You will start to see things as trivial and not so important anymore. Looking introspectively helps you become more conscious and aware of your thoughts. The more you understand your thoughts, the easier you will find it to live in the present. This was one of the reasons why I could not live in the present since I was unable to identify myself and my thoughts.

No more stress and anxiety

Did you know that when you focus on the now and make the most of it, your levels of stress will reduce drastically. This is due to the fact that you just live instead of overthinking. We will think about the next 5 minutes instead of the next 5 years. When we stop worrying and stressing, we extend the longevity of our lives. For a good proportion of my life, I worried myself aimlessly and ended up being sick many times as a result. Once you start practicing enjoying the now, your life will improve for the better.

Accept the fact that things may not go your way as expected

In life, we can plan as much as we would like too. But bear in mind that these plans may not follow through in the way you would like them too. In this day and age, it’s great to be flexible to plan change in order to not get disappointed. There are outcomes which we cannot control. Do note that if plans change, do not take the changes personally as the changes may not have anything to do with you. I have learnt that you just have to continue on and keep living.

Generating positivity and happiness

Ever since I started meditating, I focus fully on the present and generating good vibes. I believe that enjoying the present can help you become happier. At the end of the day, happiness is a choice but if we think positively this will help you generate happiness. We will finally be at peace too. Again, be mindful of what is happening around you. We all have the capability to live in the present, but we need to see the positives in order to follow this through.

In closing, I will leave you all with another piece of friendly advice. Do not feel afraid to let go and live some moments just for you! Enjoy your life the way you would like to and not how others would like you to live your life. We all have our own subjective perceptions, but do not let them control you. Be a free spirit instead!

The Future Of Law: Move Over Corporate, Hello Intellectual Property

IMG_0598

For many years, people have had careers in the legal industry and, more specifically, in corporation law. This market has become saturated and is already at risk from automation.

How could this industry be transformed for the better?

By removing the unnecessary and monotonous tasks, which can be done by an algorithm. This will free time for more complex projects. Instead, firms can focus on building their clientele and establishing more of an online presence.

Reduce costs

Firms can cut their overheads considerably, particularly, by not having to employ people to complete low level tasks.

Firms can potentially work virtually

Would it be possible for lawyers to work remotely instead of turning up to the office? Yes, I believe the future will allow us to be in our offices virtually thanks to emerging and new technologies like virtual reality. We could just remain at home and the office will come to us.

A greater need for an online presence

I believe the future trajectory of law firms will be to focus on building a sole online presence and exiting the whole onsite environment.

Is freelancing the future for lawyers?

Could more lawyers work directly for clients? Many are still sceptical as they rely on financial security. Once we gain more certainty, I believe increasing numbers of lawyers will start taking this route.

Transition into an Idea economy

This will open up a brand new industry for legal advisors. They say ideas are worthless, but more protection will be needed. When a large majority of our society will start creating groundbreaking things, people will search for advice.

The need to rewrite laws

With the introduction of robots and automation, laws will need to be rewritten to accommodate for both employees and robots. The rights of both will need to be made clear in order to avoid confusion and conflict. The fact that laws need to be rewritten creates more opportunities and expansion for many firms.

A deluge of patent creations

I predict that there will be a massive increase of people choosing to patent their products or services. In essence, a large focus will be placed around intellectual property. More legal advisors will be required to help people create the right patents and trademarks.

Understanding the sharing economy

Legal advisors will be needed to explain how this economy works and what ownership rights people have. In a sharing economy, there is less of a focus on ownership rights and more of a focus on license holders.

The introduction of license holders

Will we be required to apply for certain licenses in the future in order to protect ourselves and what we create? For example, will a person who creates music via an AI program have the rights or will it be the person who produces the software for the program who has the rights? This is a path our society will eventually take.

Reform of law education

There should be a change in how future law will be taught. Students must be informed of how the latest technology can benefit their profession. This is very important in order to avoid confusion and a reality shock. A large emphasis on intellectual property must be enforced so students can see how much potential there is and what they can do to better assist our society.

Know your energy

IMG_0575

Ever wondered why things are not going the way you would like them to? I know this feeling since I only started addressing this rather recently. I always wondered why things in my life went pear-shaped. When you wake up in the morning, you make a choice about which feeling you wish to adopt for the day. This feeling dictates your mood for the day, but you can change this.

We can go through our lives not realising the impact our energy has on others. If you show feel-good vibes around other people, then this will bring them closer to you. But how can this be achieved?

Raising your level of awareness and consciousness would be a good start. Since the sooner you start understanding these two aspects, you will be able to relate to why certain things keep happening in your life.

You can change your perception of life, as only you can generate this vision and no one else. Why do we get so caught up in a certain vision? This is due to the fact that we expect life to be a certain way. But the reality is far from this this.

There are incidents in life, which we have no control over. The best thing you can do is accept and forgive. We cannot spend our days seeking answers if they are never going to come. We have all been a victim of this before.

My advice is that when you see the signs, do not get worried just aim to process and move on accordingly. Once we become more aware of different energy levels then this will be an indication for us.

Why do we not pay attention to energy levels?

We have a tendency in our lives to not address what is going on inside ourselves. This ultimately makes us unaware of what we are going through. Our behaviours are aligned with our emotions. Fear and judgement can prevent us from identifying our own faults. In the end, we blame others for our own mistakes. It is important that we do not get so caught up in the thoughts that others may have of us. All people perceive in the way they would like but should this bother us? No, not really.

Other peoples’ thoughts of us are only a reflection of their own. However, the more you tune into yourself, the easier it will become to block out these thoughts.

Below are 7 ways which can help you to raise your energy level:

Meditation

This is one of the best ways to tune into yourself. I never used to meditate until very recently. After having been advised to take it up, it really does work. The reason why I never got involved in meditation was because I was unable to see the benefits. There are times in life where you have to give things a go. Regarding meditation, you only have to dedicate at least 10 minutes a day. I highly recommend meditating in the morning.

Listening to a feel good song

After I meditate, I put on a song which makes me happy. This then brings up the energy level even higher. Also, try to loosen up when you are listening to the song as this generates all the feel-good vibes.

Sharing humour

This can also raise the energy level. Cracking a few jokes can put us in a great mood too.

Declutter your life

Living lighter can you help you to understand your thoughts better. If we live in a mess, then we are less likely to view our thoughts from a point of clarity. This is like closing one chapter and making room for the next one.

Practice forgiveness

We all have a tendency to hang on to past events, which drag us down instead of lifting us up.

Take responsibility for your actions

For a long time, I avoided not taking control of my life, which led to me making a number of reckless decisions. I realised that I was approaching these situations from a level of low energy. Note that you cannot avoid not taking control of your life. The moment you take responsibility, your energy levels will increase.

Becoming mindful of your thoughts

Identifying the positive from the negative will help you to make the most out of your days. I know it’s easier said than done but it will help you to focus better. Focusing on the positive is a great way to filter out the thoughts which bring your energy levels down.

All of these tips above can act as guidance to help you achieve the maximum energy vibrations. We all want energy bliss in our lives. Being more mindful will enable us to get there.

Why it’s better to be in control of your emotions

IMG_0567

At some point in our life we have been reckless with our emotions, often throwing caution to the wind. We are also less likely to address our feelings and actions, meaning we make the same mistakes again and again. Eventually, this can cause us to have a breakdown and be in a period of stasis since in such a situation we don’t know how to proceed further. I have had my share of misfortune and pain as a consequence of not always being mindful of my emotions. The interesting fact is, we become less immature once we understand why we behave in certain ways.

If we do not understand our emotions then they can get the better of us. Accept that it is ok to feel sad, but realise that you will come out of it as it is only an emotion and you have the choice to change this thought.

We also have a higher chance of getting too attached to others when we fail to accept ourselves. This causes us to seek acceptance in others. Also, a lack of confidence causes us to react strongly to the most trivial things.

It is important to address our mistakes so we can change and evolve. At the end of the day, we would like to build deep and meaningful relationships with people, but with a higher level of awareness, we will be able to better maintain them.

Focus on the following areas to help you understand your emotions better;

Stop running away or escaping from your thoughts

You will need to address them to prevent them from growing into a mountain from a molehill. If we learn how to manage them then we can avoid overreacting and mismanaging.

Identify the reasons behind your emotions. For example, what causes you to feel sad?

Find the trigger, which causes you to feel this type of emotion. Unresolved past events can prove to be reasons for us to respond in certain ways. I know for myself, I had not forgiven what had happened. So I would be easily triggered and end up in an emotional mess. The fact is that you cannot change what has happened but you can accept it.

In life, accept that events may not go the way you had hoped. This does not mean that you have failed. So please do not misunderstand.

Write down your emotions

It can be quite amazing how writing down your emotions can benefit oneself. Some of us are better at expressing our emotions by writing them down than verbally. Truth be told, this is me. When I express myself by writing down my emotions, I feel like I am releasing any built up tension. It is not wise to bottle up feelings and emotions. I highly recommend trying this and then reading them back to yourself to process all internal pain and trauma.

Take a step back and review

Instead of diving head first into a situation, try listening to the other person’s thoughts. Put yourself in their shoes. This can help you respond accordingly.

Surrounding yourself with positivity

People with negative energies can rub off onto you. In order to help you move forward, be around people with a positive attitude. This will be a good start to encourage you to begin thinking in a more uplifting way. Taking up an activity which you will derive pleasure and satisfaction from will help you to generate positivity.

These are some of the ways, which you can adopt to help you on your way to better controlling your emotions. The sooner you start, your life will become more enjoyable and grounded.

We Only Have One Life So Dream Big

IMG_0561

We all go through life thinking a certain way; a way, which has been conditioned by our surroundings. The education we receive at home and at school makes up a great part of this. This can be referred to as social conditioning. For many of us, we generate dreams from an early age, but are led down a specific trajectory. This results in us forgetting the dreams we once had.

Once we go to school, we are drilled with this mentality to study a certain course, get this job and the list goes on…

Social conditioning has its negatives, since we are put under undue pressure and stress. We all have a creative outlet, but this is schooled out of us rather early on in life. This causes us to only think within the proverbial box as opposed to outside of it. This prevents us from generating big ideas and unleashing the creativity inside us.

The limiting box method of thinking is not very beneficial. At school we should be engaged to further our way of thinking beyond this limitation. We all have the capacity to be challenged and grow within all aspects of our life. This is why I highly recommend dreaming big.

What stops us from creating and thinking differently?

We worry too much about what others may think and become subject to cynicism. Thinking outside of the square should be valued not disregarded, since being different is the new cool! If you have the courage and feel inspired, go for it!

Below, I have put together some helpful tips to gather up the confidence to start you off on your journey towards generating big ideas:

Getting out of your comfort zone

This is a classic example for us all since we like to remain in the position where we feel most at home. But thinking intergalactic will not work if you cannot throw yourself outside of certain parameters. The fact still remains that, the moment we are exposed makes us fend for ourselves. This is a perfect opportunity to work on our weaknesses and improve aspects of our lives.

Finding your passion

If we listen to our hearts then we are most likely going to work harder as it will ignite the necessary fire for us to jump in. But as human beings we have the tendency to listen more to our ego then to our hearts. Our egos are not often right, which can cause devastating consequences.

Learning how to control emotions

Regardless of how big the dream may be, it is crucial to learn how to control our emotions. If we manage our emotions in the right ways when we face obstacles, then we will know how to respond in the appropriate way. I have realised that when my emotions got in the way, they prevented me from generating big ideas and formulating them.

Dreaming big helps us understand reality better

The moment you think of an idea which is extraordinary, you will think of how you can implement it. Immediately, you will start identifying the challenges and begin to look introspectively. We think of ways we can better ourselves to make ideas work so we eventually grow with the process. From the moment, I started generating big ideas. I looked inside myself more than ever before.

Becoming more persistent and determined

When we find an idea, which we believe has a lot of potential, then nothing can hold us back. All we can think about is how to make it work and turn into something successful. The present moment is very important to us and we will not waste time.

I was a procrastinator in the past, but I have now come out of this and I am finally focusing on what matters to me most. We should all chase after our dreams as only we can achieve them.

Tune into your intuition

Believe it or not, but your intuition can be your guide, especially in this situation. The more we tune in, the better we can make life decisions.
