We Only Have One Life So Dream Big

We all go through life thinking a certain way; a way, which has been conditioned by our surroundings. The education we receive at home and at school makes up a great part of this. This can be referred to as social conditioning. For many of us, we generate dreams from an early age, but are led down a specific trajectory. This results in us forgetting the dreams we once had.

Once we go to school, we are drilled with this mentality to study a certain course, get this job and the list goes on…

Social conditioning has its negatives, since we are put under undue pressure and stress. We all have a creative outlet, but this is schooled out of us rather early on in life. This causes us to only think within the proverbial box as opposed to outside of it. This prevents us from generating big ideas and unleashing the creativity inside us.

The limiting box method of thinking is not very beneficial. At school we should be engaged to further our way of thinking beyond this limitation. We all have the capacity to be challenged and grow within all aspects of our life. This is why I highly recommend dreaming big.

What stops us from creating and thinking differently?

We worry too much about what others may think and become subject to cynicism. Thinking outside of the square should be valued not disregarded, since being different is the new cool! If you have the courage and feel inspired, go for it!

Below, I have put together some helpful tips to gather up the confidence to start you off on your journey towards generating big ideas:

Getting out of your comfort zone

This is a classic example for us all since we like to remain in the position where we feel most at home. But thinking intergalactic will not work if you cannot throw yourself outside of certain parameters. The fact still remains that, the moment we are exposed makes us fend for ourselves. This is a perfect opportunity to work on our weaknesses and improve aspects of our lives.

Finding your passion

If we listen to our hearts then we are most likely going to work harder as it will ignite the necessary fire for us to jump in. But as human beings we have the tendency to listen more to our ego then to our hearts. Our egos are not often right, which can cause devastating consequences.

Learning how to control emotions

Regardless of how big the dream may be, it is crucial to learn how to control our emotions. If we manage our emotions in the right ways when we face obstacles, then we will know how to respond in the appropriate way. I have realised that when my emotions got in the way, they prevented me from generating big ideas and formulating them.

Dreaming big helps us understand reality better

The moment you think of an idea which is extraordinary, you will think of how you can implement it. Immediately, you will start identifying the challenges and begin to look introspectively. We think of ways we can better ourselves to make ideas work so we eventually grow with the process. From the moment, I started generating big ideas. I looked inside myself more than ever before.

Becoming more persistent and determined

When we find an idea, which we believe has a lot of potential, then nothing can hold us back. All we can think about is how to make it work and turn into something successful. The present moment is very important to us and we will not waste time.

I was a procrastinator in the past, but I have now come out of this and I am finally focusing on what matters to me most. We should all chase after our dreams as only we can achieve them.

Tune into your intuition

Believe it or not, but your intuition can be your guide, especially in this situation. The more we tune in, the better we can make life decisions.
